Yesterday, the students at Elevated Excellence competed in the Democracy & Me Speech Competition sponsored by Cincinnati Public Radio. EESA had 17 students in grades 5-8 participate. Our students brought the judges and staff to tears as they clearly articulated thoughts around topics on race, poverty and social justice. We are so proud of all the student participants.
A huge thank you to all of the staff members who help edit, print and practice speeches with students. Also, sending a special thanks to Ms. Yisrael (math teacher) for organizing and hosting this event.
Last, please help me congratulate the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!
1st- Kamea Hollandsworth, 6th grade
2nd- Dariyah Jacobs, 7th grade
3rd- Kaiden Jenkins, 5th grade
The winners took home cash prizes. You can also tune in to 97.1wvxu Monday, Jan 16 at 7pm and 8pm to hear our 1st place winner Kamea Hollandsworth speech.
Congratulations! We are so proud of all the student participants.
